                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT
                   AN APPLICATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING
                   AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT TO REQUEST THAT AN
                   APPROXIMATE TWENTY (20) SQUARE MILE AREA OF
                   THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, MORE PARTICULARLY
                   DESCRIBED ON THE MAP ATTACHED HERETO AND
                   INCORPORATED HEREIN BY REFERENCE, BE
                   DESIGNATED A FEDERAL ENTERPRISE COMMUNITY.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor be and is hereby 
authorized
       to submit an application to the Department of Housing and Urban
       Development to request that an approximate twenty (20) square 
mile
       area of the City of Chattanooga, said area more particularly
       described on the map attached hereto and incorporated herein by
       reference, be designated a Federal Enterprise Community.
